Education Program Outline
Our education programs are based on STEAM principles and developed in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. They have been developed in partnership with teachers, environmental scientists and plastic engineers, who have all volunteered their time.
All our education programs cover the following:
- The impact of single-use plastic (SUP) on the environment; in particular lids
- How plastic is made and the life-cycle of plastic
- Ways we can all help rescue plastic lids and be more sustainable
- Principles of a circular circular economy, and why we need it
- Following the life cycle of a plastic lid, we demonstrate the power of a circular economy through our interactive tools with RUSTIE
- Unit of enquiry focused
- All presenters have current Working With Children Checks
“Kym, Mat, and the whole Rethink Recycling team were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly helpful and actively involved. “We had the wonderful team from Rethink Recycling come out to our school to demonstrate the our children how they recycle bottle tops. The incursion was so reasonably priced, there were four different activities the children rotated through and all children took home a carabiner that matched out school colours! Kym was so easy to organise the incursion through and her, Mat and the team were so knowledgeable. Such an incredible initiative which has really inspired inspired the children and teachers! THANK YOU!”
